Thiskyle before ikyle before n afters Kyle. Even though Kyle grew up in a good Christian home with loving parents; like most young men he was hard headed. Kyle decided to try things “his own way”; he moved out and joined the National Guard. “I was on my way to having a decent life but I got caught up with the wrong crowds and ended up doing drugs.” This led him to getting kicked out of the National Guard and sent him in a downward spiral. He began trying anything and everything he could get his hands on; in and out of programs, but only to please his parents, never for himself. He quickly was sucked deeper into a lifestyle that revolved around drugs, parties, and raves. “I had finally found people that accepted me for who I was and I could call them my friends, or so I thought.”  He ended up getting fully addicted to Crystal Meth and even started intravenously using. This is where Kyle says he hit rock bottom, “I lost everything from a place to live, family, friends, everything.” Finally his life came to a sudden halt, his addiction landed him in a bad situation. Kyle was kidnapped, held hostage for 3 days, and had his life threatened; all by one of those so called friends. “I was scared and desperate I prayed a foxhole prayer asking for God to help me.” He gave Kyle a way out, but Kyle decided, once again, that he could do it on his own; he tried to stay clean, that lasted 2 months. The very same day that he relapsed he also got into an altercation which resulted in a broken jaw that had to be wired shut. “I knew it was time for me to surrender my will to God. Since I have been here God has completely transformed my life, I have gained 85 pounds and I think and act completely different. I am not the same person that walked through the doors a year ago because I now have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Project Hope being there to give me another chance at living a good life, serving God.” Kyle has since graduated the program. He now works as an intern in our public relations department and has just applied for SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary. We are very excited to see all that God has in store for Kyle.

The scripture I stand on is Psalm 37:4-5- “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He will bring it to pass.”
